Colleen joined the staff of the Practical Ethics Center in December 1999 as Program Coordinator. She also serves as a fiscal person for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation National Program Office.

Colleen has a long association with the University of Montana, she received her Bachelor of Music in 1980 and master of Music in 1986. She founded the University of Montana Suzuki String Program in 1982, and directed that program until 1994.

Colleen continues her musical pursuits, teaching performing as principal viola with the Missoula Symphony and as a violinist and founding member of the String Orchestra of the Rockies. When not working or performing, she enjoys rafting, skiing, hiking, and self-contained bicycle touring. She has bicycled from Virginia to Oregon (1993) and from Washington to Maine (1999) as well as Missoula to Anchorage (1995).
