Bristol Bay: Helping Hands Community Health Aide/Practitioner Guide
This loose-leaf notebook provides information for community health aides on how to care for a patient nearing the end of life. While it contains much of the same information that mainstream guides include, traditional knowledge and wisdom sections are also included as well as practical information that addresses caring for patients in a remote setting.

How the grantee used this instrument:
In rural Alaska, many of the primary care services are provided by trained community health aides/practitioners. This manual was developed to infuse basic palliative care training into the comprehensive training community health aides/practitioners receive. It was distributed to community health aide/practitioner clinics in the village with orientation provided by nurse.
